Dodger pitching struggles against Rox’s bats, lose 8-3

Published by papatr1x at 11:55 pm under Dodgers Edit This

Tough game for the Blue Crew today. The pitching failed against those young Rockie bats. Hawpe and Holliday homer and Stewart capped it off with a 3 run shot. Of course, all of this was done not at Coors field, but here at Dodger stadium. I guess Kuroda just didn’t have his home field advantage today. He had been excellent all year long at home. We really needed a good outing out of him today to keep pace with the D’backs and he didn’t deliver. But he did face a formidable Rockies lineup, even if they are still young.  The Rockies are definitely talented in hitting and they have some arms with potential in Jimenez and Morales. Jimenez was decent today, but he showed flashes of dominance by striking out 7 Dodgers. With that type of talent, you just never know when they can run off ridiculous winning streaks.

The good: Kent continues to thrive hitting in front of Manny even if he refuses to give all the credit to Manny.

The bad:  Kuroda has to come through at home.

The ugly: Kuo served one up again. If I remember correctly, Torre always wears out his bullpens. He always had the luxury of Rivera, something he doesn’t have here. I hope the young bullpen arms have enough in the tank for the stretch run.
