“It” finally catches up to the Blue as they get blown out by Bucs, 15-8
Well it was about time. After winning 14 of 16 and just rolling over their opponents, one of these games was bound to happen. About everything went wrong today. Billingsley, usually very solid, served up a slam to the elder LaRoche. There were some very poor plays in the outfield today. Bad move by Torre bringing in young Elbert when veteran Proctor was just mowing down hitters. It was just one of those days. But the important thing is to put this game behind and not let it be the start of something. We can’t win every game, but after we lose a game, we have to get right back on track. And so it’s up to young Kershaw tomorrow to make a stand. It’s tough for a twenty-year-old to be put into this position but this is the big leagues.
The good: Well if you are going to give up 15 runs, it might as well be in one game.
The bad: The D’backs won, they are 3.5 games back now with 12 games to go.
